Profhilo® is manufactured by IBSA Farmaceutici Italia in the U.S FDA approved site in Italy and distributed in the UK & Ireland by HA-Derma Ltd. It is the first stabilized hyaluronic acid (HA) based product which is manufactured without the use of chemical cross-linking agents (BDDE) and is used for skin remodelling and treating skin laxity, not just for filling lines and wrinkles. According to the makers, it delivers dramatic improvement in tissue quality, even in challenging areas, and is complementary to other aesthetic treatments and dermal filler procedures. It is considered to be safe, effective and ‘a true breakthrough’ in anti-ageing medicines.

Profhilo® counteracts skin laxity through a REMODELING ACTION of collagen and elastin fibres of the dermal matrix. Thanks to the unique characteristics of Profhilo®, remodelling skin laxity is easily obtained in only 2 sessions, with a 1 month interval, injected in the superficial subcutaneous layer.
Profhilo® is based on IBSA’s patented technology of stable hybrid cooperative complexes of hyaluronic acid (HA) at high and low molecular weights. This technology has allowed IBSA to present a unique concentration of hyaluronic acid to the market: 64mg in 2 ml, injectable with a 29G TW needle. The hybrid cooperative complexes generate a dual action, owing to a slow, long-lasting release of high and low molecular weight HA.

Is There Any Downtime Required After Profhilo?
The downtime with this treatment is minimal, one of its key features! When using the particular technique for each of the 5 injection points on each side of the face, you will be able to feel the product initially after the treatment. However, the product will start to diffuse very quickly and feel softer by next day.
- It is recommended to avoid physical strain and sports on the first day after the treatment
- Avoid any further cosmetic procedures for the first two days after treatment
- It is not recommended to have sauna or steamy bath for the first few days
- No sun or UV light exposure if of bruising or prolonged swelling occurs
Do I Need To Prep For The Treatment?
Prior to your treatment appointment, we advise that you do not consume alcohol 24 hours before. We also request that you do not wear make up to the appointment as well.

Am I Suitable for Profhilo
The treatment is mainly aimed at patients who have visible signs of skin ageing. There is no age upper limit, as Profhilo works on the skin. If there are deep folds present or the skin has lost elasticity then the combination treatments with Profhilo may be more suitable.
Why Do I Need 2 Treatments?
In order to achieve the best results and prolong those results, the two treatments are recommended with 4 weeks apart. Some people may see the results within first week, but the best outcome of the treatment will be visible 4 weeks after the second treatment.
Will People Be Able To Tell I've Had "Work Done"?
Usually no, but this depends on the skin condition treated and also on what outcome of the treatment we seek in the first place. Profhilo can significantly improve skin laxity by increasing the tissue density, with most patients often saying that they were complimented on how fresh they look, but hardly ever asked what they had done.
Will There Be Any Side Effects?
Hyaluronic Acid is very well tolerated, and the only side effects reported were related to injection itself not the product. Some patients have seen bruising and mild swelling at the injection sites, but these generally disappear in a short period of time.
